Is Law No. 9 The Holy Grail
Of The Ultimate Overseas 'Retirement?'

Thanks to Law No. 9, you can enjoy a first-class lifestyle in a beautiful tropical haven while saving thousands of dollars per year on just about everything,
including restaurants, hotels, entertainment, travel, and more.

Even if you're not 'retired!'

Today, I'd like to show you how to start reaping the benefits of
Law No. 9--and start a new life in a locale that Harper's Bazaar calls
'The most beautiful retreat in the world.'

Dear International Living Reader,

Make this stunning tropical retirement haven your new home, and the mercifully low cost-of-living will help you save a considerable amount of money:

A ticket to see a first-run movie in English can cost as little as $2.25. A nice dinner with wine can be less than $10 a person. Cocktails in a nightclub with live music can be $2 or $3 apiece. A taxi from one end of town to the other is less than $2.

You can stock your refrigerator with four bags of groceries--water and soda, eggs and bread, butter and cheese, olives, nuts, ham for sandwiches, pancake mix, and more, and still get change from a $20 bill. (the U.S. Dollar is legal tender here)

A haircut for a man usually runs around $5... and only slightly more for a woman. A ticket to a live music concert is around $10.

You'll also find big savings on things like medical services, massage and physical therapy, housekeeping, gardening, construction trade, and auto mechanic services.

And amazingly, when you take advantage of Law No. 9, you'll pay even less than this for most of your everyday necessities--enabling you to enjoy an incredibly low cost-of-living while living in one of Latin America's most fascinating and beautiful countries.

In fact, I don't know of a comparable law in existence anywhere else in the world. When it comes to affordable overseas living, the benefits contained in Law No. 9 remain unparalleled.

Reap The Money-Saving Benefits of Law No. 9
in 'The World's #1 Retirement Haven'

If you haven't already guessed it, Law No. 9 was created in Panama, a country that has ranked #1 in International Living's Annual Global Retirement Index... for five consecutive years.

Law No. 9 is the most appealing program of special benefits for foreign residents and retirees you'll find anywhere in the world today. Although it's been in effect since 1987, it hasn't been until recently that Law No. 9, more commonly known as Panama's pensionado program, has received the attention it deserves.

Now, you may be thinking, 'Pensioner? Retiree? That leaves me out.'

Not in Panama!

The rules for becoming a pensionado and qualifying for Panama's pensionado program are probably not what you would expect.

For example, even if you're as young as 18 years old, you may apply and qualify as a pensionado in Panama, provided you can show evidence of a guaranteed pension income of $500 per month ($600 per month for a couple).

As long as it's a pension from a government agency (e.g. social security, disability, armed forces) or from a company, you're good to go.

As a qualified pensionado in Panama, you will be entitled to:

  • 50% off entertainment--such as movies, theaters, concerts, and sporting events -- anywhere in the country
  • 50% off closing costs for home loans and more...
  • 50% off hotel stays from Monday through Thursday
  • 30% off hotel stays from Friday through Sunday
  • 30% off bus, boat, and train fares
  • 25% off airline tickets
  • 25% off at restaurants
  • 20% off medical consultations
  • 20% off professional and technical services
  • 15% off at fast-food restaurants
  • 15% off hospital bills (if no insurance applies)
  • 15% off dental and eye exams
  • 10% off prescription medicines

In addition, you are entitled to a one-time exemption from duties on the importation of household goods (up to $10,000) AND an exemption every two years from duties for the importation or local purchase of a car.

And since you only need to be 18 to qualify as a pensionado...you may be able to 'retire' a lot earlier than you ever dreamed possible

Add to this all of the exciting opportunities going on right now... the property values that can still be found... the modern infrastructure... an extremely affordable cost of living... the generous tax incentives and privacy laws... and you can see why we consider Panama the best retirement destination and offshore haven in the world right now.

You Can Enjoy The Ultimate Overseas Lifestyle in Panama

Quite frankly, Panama offers the most attractive overseas lifestyle opportunity I've ever seen.

I honestly can't think of any other country in the world that has ever offered so much to international visitors,

How to live comfortably in Latin America's most affordable city...

Obviously, cost of living is determined by your lifestyle, but here is an idea of what you might expect to spend in order to live quite comfortably in Panama City, per month:

* Housing (rental of a two-bedroom apartment)--$800
* Utilities (electricity, gas, water)--$300
* Household help (maid three days a week, four hours per day)--$135
* Groceries--$300
* Maintenance and fuel for one car--$150
* Entertainment (dining out and other activities)--$150
* Health care--$150
Incidentals (clothes, household items, etc.)--$100
Communication (phone, Internet, Cable TV)--$100

Monthly total: $2,185

Note: You may not want a car in Panama City--especially with the way gas prices are skyrocketing these days. Luckily, in Panama City, you can take a taxi clear across town--even as of May 2006--for only one or two dollars.

expats, retirees, and entrepreneurs, yet has remained so undiscovered and underpriced.

In fact, the more I think about this tropical gem, the more it simply astounds me...

... affordable first-class real estate... a much lower cost of living than North America... modern amenities and technology... spectacular mountain, rainforest and beachfront scenery... warm, year-round weather... close proximity to North America... a rich culture and history... the world's best retirement program...

... fun and friendly locals--many of whom speak English... trendy new restaurants, cafés, museums, and music clubs... ... low-cost health care specialists... a safe, stable environment... a fast-growing economy... guaranteed financial privacy... promising business and tax-saving opportunities...

... and so much more...

Until Recently, Panama Remained Our Little Secret...

With the exception of our readers, few people knew anything about the incredible lifestyle you can enjoy when you start a new life in Panama.

That is, until now. The secret is definitely out.

The mainstream press has finally started shouting to the masses what we've been quietly informing our readers about for the past five straight years...

.. that Panama is 'The World's #1 Retirement Haven.'

Take a look:

'... property here remains a fraction of what one would pay for similar real estate in the United States. And with enticements like a 20-year suspension of property taxes to those who build houses or renovate in a historic district, and an income tax hiatus for those starting some small businesses, the opportunities are appealing not only for those seeking a place to retire but also for entrepreneurs.'
--The New York Times, 2005

'... hands new American retirees a property-tax exemption and steep discounts on everything from movies to surgery... You can live in a nice place by the water, and you can live dirt-cheap...'
--Newsweek, 2005

'... lets retirees import a car tax-free every two years, import $10,000 of household items tax-free, and buy property tax-free...'
--The Wall Street Journal, 2004

It's no wonder that the world is is just starting to catch on--and that those that have already discovered Panama are so enthusiastic about the opportunities for living, retiring, and even netting tax-advantaged profits...

And we all know what happens once the crowds start arriving. Prices go up.

It's as inevitable as death and taxes.

But don't just take my word for it. Check out what London's Daily Mail had to say in an October 2005 article:

'Property prices are predicted to rise by 400%
over the next four years...'

However, Panama remains of the most overlooked and misunderstood destinations in the world... at least until now.

Let me explain.

If you were to ask most people on the street what they knew about Panama, they'd probably respond with something like, 'The country with the canal, the hats, and that Noriega guy...'

This is only partially true--at best.

The Panama Canal, a.k.a. 'The Eighth Wonder of the World' is here, of course. In fact, there are plans to widen the canal soon.

Panama Hats? Most of these hats, believe it or not, are actually made in Ecuador.

And as for Noriega, well, you can rest assured that those days are long, long-gone. General Manuel Noriega and his corrupt self-serving government have been out of power for more than a decade now.

However, due to the drama that Noriega stirred up in the late eighties, the world has largely ignored Panama--deeming it too dangerous.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Panama is now a peaceful, democratic country that welcomes visitors like no other country on earth.

'ZERO TAX AND 100% POSSIBILITIES'

The Colon Free Zone, located on Panama's Atlantic coast, is the main commercial distribution center of the western hemisphere with some 2,000 companies, spread out over 1,000 acres, operating here. The Free Zone is served by four major ports and future plans include expansion into an adjacent area (1,400 acres).

The Free Zone employs about 14,000 people, and claims the best trained bilingual work force in Central America. The Zone hosts 250,000 business people and tourists each year.

The Zone slogan says it all: 'Zero tax and 100% of opportunities.'

And nobody's scrutinizing it. It's practically undiscovered.

Panama's recent dramatic history has kept people away--and created the most exciting and unique overseas lifestyle opportunity I've ever seen.

Furthermore, its economic performance is solid. In fact, over the past 40 years, Panama's inflation rate has averaged less than 2% per year. That's simply unheard of south of the U.S. border.

Panama is a peaceful, democratic, and beautiful country with all the advantages of tropical living--but few of the disadvantages. Because of its strategic location and its U.S. influence (many Americans helped build and operate the Panama Canal), Panama offers state-of-the-art benefits usually available only in first-world countries.

For example, the roads are almost pot-hole free. It's out of the hurricane belt (in fact it's barely even experienced fast winds in the last century.) It has state-of-the-art infrastructure and services... fast Internet access... cable TV... access to U.S. style products and services... excellent healthcare... and more...

Indeed, Panama has risen from the ashes of the Noriega era and has emerged as 'The World's #1 Retirement Haven' in the International Living Annual Global Retirement Index--for five consecutive years!

Of all the retirement havens in the world, Panama is--without question--the best deal you'll find.

Anywhere.

And if you act soon, you can still have it all:

  • Own Your Own Dream Home in Paradise. Find stunning oceanview homes for only $75,000... secluded valley retreats for only $60,000... and upscale downtown apartments for only $50,000... (Please note that as of May 2006, prices have started rising faster due to a recent surge in demand. I can't overstress that you must act quickly if you want to find prices this low...)
  • Cut Your Cost Of Living By 35% To 50% - Or More Take a taxi across town for $1... watch a movie at the theatre (in English) for $3.75... enjoy a steak dinner in a nice restaurant for $7... receive one month of high-speed internet access for $20... visit a U.S. trained doctor for $25...
  • Enjoy Modern Amenities And Infrastructure. You'll encounter newly-paved roads and highways, air-conditioned shopping malls, high-speed Internet access, cable and satellite TV, and much more. Since much of the infrastructure was built by Americans, you'll find things work much like they do at home. The only main difference is that you won't be paying anywhere near U.S. prices to benefit from them.
  • Enjoy A Warn, Year-Round Climate. Along the coasts, you'll find the tropical climate pleasant--although it can get a little hot and humid during certain times of the year. Luckily, the swimming, scuba-diving, snorkeling, and swimming opportunities here are truly world-class. Keeping cool is easy--and fun! And when you head inland, you'll find one of the world's most perfect refuges. Its lush green hills, flowing rivers, and spectacular waterfalls help to make it one of the most unspoiled retirement retreats in the world today. Due to the elevation, daytime temperatures rarely dip below 70° F and rarely climb above 80° F. Nights are cool. It's ideal, therefore, as either a year-round, fulltime retreat... or as a place to escape to for several weeks of the year.
  • Explore a Tropical Wonderland. Indulge your sense of adventure with a trek through uncharted jungles and steamy rainforests and some of the most vast, rich and complex rainforests on the planet (home to over 940 recorded bird species and 105 endangered species)... canoe into rural villages... go on white-water-rafting expeditions... hike through lush green valleys... horseback ride along deserted palm-lined beaches... dive in spectacular Caribbean waters... all this, and more, in one of the world's most overlooked adventure travel destinations.

Panama has a diverse landscape...

  • Get The Visa of Your Choice--Hassle-free. The visa process is simple. It's a one-time application, and there are no renewals and no additional fees. You can apply today and soon have residency for life. Your visa only takes about a month. It's fast, it's affordable, and it's easy. And benefits include one-time exemption of duties for the importation of household goods (up to $10,000) and an exemption every two years of import duties for a car.
  • Speak English With Friendly Locals. Because of the long-standing American presence here, you'll find that many of the locals speak excellent English. Communicating is easy. However, it remains helpful to learn a little bit of the local language. (I'll show you how a little later on...)
  • Find Affordable, First-rate Health Care. You'll find nearly any health care service that you could ever want, but at a fraction of the prices in North America (A U.S-trained doctor will make a house call for around $25.) Furthermore, prices for prescription drugs are low here as well. And many drugs that require a prescription in North America are available over the counter here...
  • Reap Enormous Tax Benefits And Financial Privacy. This place has been one of the best kept secrets for international investment and tourism for years. Open a truly private bank account... set up an offshore corporation, trust, or private foundation and take advantage of privacy, tax, and asset protection benefits. You can receive a 20-year exemption on import taxes, a 20-year exemption on real estate taxes, and even net tax-advantaged profits... If you're an offshore investor or an entrepreneur, move with care and make wise choices, you can expect healthy profits, low taxes and, best of all, statutorily guaranteed maximum privacy.

... and much, much more...

Take Action Before Prices Rise, And You Can
Get in on Panama's Hottest Opportunities

If you've ever dreamed of starting a new life in an idyllic haven like Panama, but thought that it's too late... too expensive... or even too crazy an idea to start with, you're in luck.

You can still find some enticing real estate bargains in Panama for much, much less than prices for comparable properties in other tropical havens like Costa Rica, the Bahamas, or the Cayman Islands.

A Beach Home With All The Amenities. Within walking distance of this lovely beach, you'll find all the modern amenities you're used to back home: a shopping center, a beauty salon, a spa, restaurants, banks, fast food (including a Subway), a gas station, handicraft markets, hardware stores, and more. There is also a large new supermarket with a bakery and deli. Fresh lobster, fish, and shrimp can be purchased directly from local fishermen at the local beaches. And in this area, you can get a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house on an acre lot with terrace, swimming pool, and maid's quarters with a separate bathroom -- for just $95,000.

A Cool Mountain Getaway... This small town's lush green hills, flowing rivers, and spectacular waterfalls help to make it one of the most unspoiled retirement retreats in the world today. Banana, mango, palm trees, and coffee plantations abound. It offers all manner of outdoor activities... hiking, biking, bird watching, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, trout fishing, and gardening. According to Modern Retirement Magazine, 'The town's European and American expats appreciate the stable political scene, the mercifully modest cost of living... the clean air, and the outdoorsy activities...' Here we found picturesque 2,500-square-foot homes for sale for just $60,000 to $70,000.

A Colonial Gem ... Abandoned by the city's elite in the 1950s, the area became a squatters' slum--but today, artists, professionals, and snowbirds have turned it into real estate gold. Its quiet, colonial charm and friendly, bohemian feel makes it more than worth a look. Here you can find a 540-square-foot studio apartment for just $50,000--or a one-bedroom 1,300-square-foot unit for only $132,800. With no property taxes for 20 years!

Remember, although property is still incredibly cheap here... prices have started rising rapidly now that the secret's out.

Two IL Readers Discover Tropical Island Living

John P. was an engineer with a waste-management business in San Francisco. His work took him to more than 50 countries, so it's safe to say he knows the world quite well. In 1999, he sold his business and retired to Panama.

Now he and his wife Cheryl own a villa on the remote tropical island of Contadora, where they spend plenty of time relaxing each year.

'We thought we were buying a vacation home, but what we really got was a big new family of fellow island dwellers,' said John.

'When someone catches fish, it turns into a social dinner with the other residents. Back in California, I'm allowed to keep only two fish, and sometimes I don't catch any. For me, the fishing here is unbelievable! I catch something every time I go out... and it usually turns into a dinner party when I bring home the catch. I was going to buy a boat but I don't need to here. I joined the marina and someone is always ready to go fishing with me'

Cheryl added, 'We can walk to the beach and usually have it to ourselves,' Cheryl added. 'But when we see someone else they're always friendly. On this little island we're all friends.'

John and Cheryl are looking to buy a condo in the city, too, since they ve come to relish the cultural life of Panama's capital, Panama City.

'It's like San Francisco, but with better weather,' Cheryl says. 'We stay at a great little hotel that costs $45 a night. When our daughter visits we get a suite for $60! But we like it here so much we're going to buy a place of our own. That way we can have the peace and quiet of the island along with the great restaurants and nightlife of the city. '

When the Shah of Iran was exiled, he chose Contadora as his home. This exclusive island has been a secret destination of the super rich for decades. The crew from Survivor stayed here while shooting Survivor: Pearl Islands.

Even though the rich and famous live and visit here, Contadora isn't pretentious .John extols Contadora's virtues: 'We were accepted here immediately. We feel like we fit right in.'

Although this happy couple return to San Francisco often, they now consider Panama their home.

'We're now able to rent our villa when we are away. That just started by word of mouth,' Cheryl admits. 'We didn't plan it, but our friends want to enjoy the life we were telling them about, so when we're not here, we rent it to them. Not long ago, we rented the place to some Italian tourists. They loved it and stayed longer than expected. It's working out great for us.'

Panama, you will commonly hear native speakers drop the modifier. The greeting is simply 'Buenas' -- no matter what time of day it is.)

This is just one of many insider Spanish language tips you'll get from this information-packed chapter.

And the best part is it's immediately applicable. You could easily use every word and phrase in this chapter on your next trip to Panama. Nothing but bare-bones, survival Spanish here:

Tucan is a 180-acre gated residential community with a rainforest on one side and the Panama Canal on the other. It's got access to healthcare, restaurants, exciting nightlife, national and an international airport only 15 minutes away. Some of Panama's best beaches are less than an hour away from Tucan.

Tucan has the only golf course in Panama City - an 18-hole, par 72 championship course, designed by Jeffrey Myers. And every one of the 424 residences at Tucan Country Club gets an unobstructed view of at least one hole of the golf course.

Pricing starts at $199,000, a bargain compared to most golf communities in the USA. Should you purchase one of these residences, you'll enjoy a 1.5% savings as a Club Panama VIP - and save at least $2,985 on your purchase.

That's enough savings to employ a full-time maid in Panama for over two years.

The Time to Consider Panama is NOW!!!

Prices will likely never be this low again. As London's Daily Mail stated, 'Property prices are predicted to rise by 400% over the next four years...' That's why I recommend getting a head start and beating the others-- before they snatch up Panama's last remaining property bargains and drive property prices sky-high.

Don't delay and miss out on these great ground-floor opportunities, as other readers have regretted doing in the past. Expect these new places to experience the same kind of growth and success as the many other havens we've recommended in the past, like Costa Rica, Belize, and the Costa del Sol in Spain.

Once the new havens we reveal in Panama: The Owner's Manual receive more and more press, the crowds will follow...and so will the rising prices...
